TLDR

On Digital Nomad Stories with Anne, I shared how I got my agency down to about two hours of my own time per week while traveling. It did not happen by working faster. It happened by handing off the right things and keeping only the few that need me. Here is how.

Delegate without chasing a unicorn

A lot of owners wait for one perfect assistant who can do it all. That person does not show up. So I do the opposite. I record rough Looms while I work, no polish. Then I bucket the tasks by type. Then I hire against the most painful bucket first, not everything at once. That way each hire has a clear job and I get my time back one bucket at a time. Delegation like this is a big part of running lean, and I get into it more on the Hailey Rowe podcast.

What stays on my plate

Two hours a week only works if the right work leaves and the right work stays. I keep the small set of decisions and relationships that move the business. Everything else has an owner who is not me. The other half of the secret is client fit. Good-fit clients need less hand-holding and cause fewer fires, so the whole thing stays light. If you want the travel side of this, I cover it on Livin That Life.
