TLDR

Selling gets a bad name because so much of it is pushing. On Sales Genius with Joe Ingram, I made the case that the best sellers don't push at all. They understand the person in front of them, and they take responsibility for the next step.

Here's the tactical version of how I think about selling and filling a pipeline without spending a dollar on ads.

Make the buyer feel understood

People buy when they feel understood, not when they understand you. So stop leading with your features and your process. Lead with their problem, said back to them so clearly they lean in.

When someone feels seen, the wall comes down. Moving a good-fit client forward is your responsibility, not theirs, so once you know you can help, guide them. Don't leave a person who needs you stuck because you didn't want to seem pushy. Vet for fit first, then take the lead.

Fill the pipeline without ads

You don't need paid ads to stay busy. Organic works. Referrals work. A short, personal video sent to the right person works. So does guesting on podcasts where your buyer already listens.

The thread through all of it is trust built before the pitch. Show up, be useful, and be specific about who you help. Do that consistently and leads come to you warm. For a deeper take on predictable growth, here's a conversation on predictable B2B success.
