How to Get Cut Through With Your Marketing
▶TLDR
- You cut through by being understood, not by shouting louder than everyone else.
- A clear offer and a price you believe in do more for you than clever tactics.
- The right buyer feels seen in your words before they ever book a call.
Owners often think the answer to a quiet pipeline is more noise. More posts, more channels, more hustle. On the Business Mastermind Podcast with Gavin Preston, I made the case for the opposite. Getting cut through is about clarity, not volume.
When your message lands, the right person feels like you're reading their mind. That feeling is what moves them, and it comes from a few simple decisions most owners skip.
Cut through by being understood
People buy when they feel understood, not when they understand you. So the goal isn't to explain everything you do. It's to name the problem your buyer is living with, in their words, better than they can name it themselves.
Do that and you don't need to be the loudest voice in the room. You just need to be the one who gets it. That's a much easier bar to clear, and it's how a smaller business can beat a bigger, noisier one.
Simplify the offer and hold your price
Most owners try to stand out by adding more. More services, more features, more options. It backfires. A muddy offer is hard to say yes to. Simplify down to one clear outcome, wrapped in a short, named process, and you become easy to choose.
Price is part of standing out too. Most people undercharge by about half and do around a third more work to make up for it. You can't hold a price you don't believe in, so map the pain your client feels over one, three, six, and twelve months. A premium problem deserves a premium price. If you want more on pricing and leads, I got into it in this conversation on the Hailey Rowe show.
